"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

We have a rock garden. Or, perhaps more accurate, a garden in the rocks. You see, we moved into our home one year ago, almost to the day, and we have a pool that is surrounded by a backyard that consists mainly of rocks. We love our pool, and  while the rocks have their purpose, we weren't sure how we were going to succeed at planting a garden amongst them. We decided we were going to go for it though and try to plant a garden this past spring. Our grand plans were scaled back greatly when we realized just how much work is involved in moving that much rock. Instead, we decided to start out small and remove a little more rock each year. As is, our garden is coming along nicely and we are pleased that S is enjoying it as much as her mama and papa are. After all, fresh carrots from the garden to have with dinner, picked by the little ones hands... there really is nothing better than that!
