Sunny and I came up with the idea to try to make a fairy (or two) and decided that all fairies need some sort of home. I've made fabric mushrooms before, so I wanted to try my hand at coming up with a tree design this time. As these things go, the tree transformed itself into an apple tree (thanks to some apple fabric that I had on the shelf.) This could also be done with leaves for a fall tree, or even snowflakes for a winter tree. I used some simple Velcro circles to make the apples removable. Now our fairy friends (see Sunny's fairy there, she is very proud of it) can pick apples and store them in the pocket inside the door to the tree or the pocket could also be used to hold the fairy if she wants to hide or needs a little rest. I want to make it perfectly clear that I am no seamstress by any means. I can sew a straight line (sort of) and I can problem solve until I get things the way that I want them. I don't follow patterns (too confusing) and I don't write how I did any of this down. I should though! I would like to try to make another fairy, along with another tree, and it is almost a guarantee that I will miss a step or two along the way and end up tearing out my seams and trying it again. That's just the way I work though, and I must say, it is rather fun!
OMGosh!
