"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

So it turns out that S has been completely confused as to why the elves would bring her a plastic toy in her stocking (a single My Little Pony... I should have known better.) She believes with all of her little heart that the elves only make wooden and handmade toys. Why did I not think of that? She did get a couple of card games in her stocking, one was a story telling game with pretty hand drawn pictures, so I was able to pull off that there must be some artist elves who like to draw. She totally bought it. Then she says to me, "I was thinking mom, I bet there are elves like you. Actually, all of the elves are kind of like you." I said; "Why is that, because I like to make stuff?" S: "Yes!" (Okay, now I couldn't resist this next part.) "Sunny, what would you say if I told you that I really am an elf?" S got pretty excited at this idea. "Yeah! I bet you are only half elf though, and the rest of you is a real person!" Me: "Hmmm, maybe. Would that make you part elf also?" S: "Oh, yeah I bet it does!"
