"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

We're just kicking back and relaxing this weekend, thought we might share a smile or two with you!

In The Footsteps Of Her Father

In the footsteps of her father.
She learned to stand alone.
In worlds filled with dangers.
Camoflouged as nature's own.
Through the wooded marshlands.
O'er creeks and mountains high.
She followed in his footsteps.
As he told her, "Don't be shy."
Nature is a such a wonderland.
It is so full of life to see.
But holds som many dangers.
We must learn to let them be.
He pointed out the hazzards.
Past quicksand pits and hollows.
Showed her how the bear and deer.
Left signs for them to follow.
Every plant along the path.
He named as they walked by.
Carefully she listened to him.
As she followed with her eye.
These were the adventures.
Of a father and his child.
In the footsteps of her father.
As they wandered through the wild.

You may remember this photo from a while back, it's one of my favorite papa/daughter photos and it just happened to fit so well with this poem by Vel Champion that I found online. Thank you Vel for sharing your talent with the world!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
