"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

Today we celebrate.
It's a small thing, one that will sneak up on you and rattle your good sense.
The truth is, I have always felt young (perhaps because I'm the youngest of nine) yet what I know to be true in my heart (40 is NOT old!) and what my head is telling me (eek, today I'm 40!) is an entirely different matter.
I seem to be lingering somewhere between head and heart. Today I will do my best
to greet the day with as much grace and optimism as I can possibly muster.
(A good glass of wine may help this along.)

It is a pretty beautiful life that I have.
I'm amazed and grateful everyday.
