"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

Birthday Girl!

My silly girl is 4 today!
Happy Birthday to my sweet sunshine that truly lights up my world.
This mama is so lucky to have you as a daughter,
my heart aches with the wonder of it all!

She insisted on having an "Orange-alicious" party. (You know the book, Pinkalicious.) Sunny's favorite color is orange so she decided all of her decorations should be orange and she very kindly requested that everyone wear orange to her party. That was it. I love it when it is easy to please her!

Her daddy and I worked together to make her the circus tent. I saw something similar on Pinterest (here) and decided I could do that (with the help of the hubby and his tools.) The best part about it is that it spins! The only thing I would like to do to it still, is to make it play music like a music box.

The picture of her room I posted because we spent the weekend, leading up to her party, finishing up a few crafty projects around the house. I made the book sling (also found on Pinterest, here.)

The middle photos are of S playing with sand and shells that were given to her from her little friend from a recent trip to the ocean. Her friend picked up the shells off the beach herself,
making them even more meaningful.

and.. the butterfly even let her touch its wings.

One more project that I'm working on at the moment, are the knobs for our kitchen that I'm hand painting. I have half of them done so far. Only 8 more to go!

Lastly, I have been saving up what little extra $ that I get to buy this playhouse for S.
I was so happy that I was able to buy it in time for her birthday. As you can tell,
she is mighty pleased with it herself.

I'm not sure where the time has gone, or how it is possible that my little one is 4 already,
but I do know how very lucky we are to have such a special girl as our daughter.
All my love goes to this girl of mine.
She told me the other day that she loves me for "miles and miles."
I'm not sure where she came up with that, but I like it. I do.
