"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."

We had already visited an apple orchard once this season, so S didn't show a whole lot of excitement when we told her we were going again. Her interest peaked though, when we said that it was a different orchard this time. Giddiness overtook her when we told her about the animals, pumpkins and that her little friend A, along with her family, would be joining us. It was an unseasonably warm and windy evening, with threats of rain showers overhead. The light was poor, except for when it was magnificent. Rays of sunshine finding their way to us through the dark clouds, reminding us of the celebration before us. It was a birthday after all. A's little sister, sweet precious baby Lizzie was officially one year old. We were blessed to spend part of her special day with her and her family. As it turned out, it was the perfect evening for a visit with dear friends.

  2. ... and I agree with Demie.
It's beautiful, vibrant, colorful. And windy. Looks a bit windy. I especially love number 2. the one where 'S' stands in the field. It embraces so many things.
